Release of the Roots Reggae Album "Truthical Revival" for Jamaican Legend "Stamma" Haughton

Music fans will hear an eclectic Roots Reggae Music, on the album Truthical Revival from Jamaican music legend Stamma Haughton, available nationally and internationally on Haughton's own Marston Recording Corporation label.

Ralston Stamma Haughton is a native of Montego Bay, Jamaica, Stamma Haughton grew up in the land of sunshine and tropical beaches where the cool breeze gently floods its people with the rich pulsations of the powerful, rhythmic, Reggae beat. This environment is an excellent medium to nurture and aid the development of young musical talent. "To have been born into such a blessed part of the world, such as Jamaica, is a blessing" said Stamma. The natural beauty and finer aesthetic qualities of the island have significantly impressed itself upon the very core of Stamma. He has internalized the goodness of his birthplace and expresses to the world the silent and hidden magnificence of Jamaica through his character and his music. The beauty and goodness that pervades all that is, is transformed through Stamma into music. Into the world of music. He loves every type of music, for music is the essence of his being. To him the varieties of music are in truth one, for they came from one source, which is the sound waves and frequencies that come into the world from the throbbing of the heart of the cosmos. Music is life, music is his eternal soul mate.

Truthical Revival is filled with songs about life, Truth and Right, the universal law, that masterfully combine the Montego Bay native's Reggae roots with a wide variety of Jamaican music styles. All of the songs were written, arranged, produced, and performed by Stamma Haughton, including vocals and musical instruments. Other backup vocal done by his wife Margaret Haughton. Wars, the anthem-like first track, to the Reggae Dancehall-influenced Musical Love Is What We Need, to the over sixty minutes long reggae album, Truthical Revival keeps the listener wondering what's next from the man who first ventured into the public arena with his music in Jamaica at the age of fifteen. The former bass player for calypso king Mighty Sparrow and front man for Stamma and the Clubbites, has taken the extensive experience he gained while producing a wide variety of international acts and working with such Reggae acts as Peter Tosh, Lee (Scratch) Perry & Bob Marley, and many other top Jamaican and international artists, and put it all together on Truthical Revival.. Marston Recording Corporation is based in Miami, Florida, USA and Montego Bay, Jamaica. Truthical Revival has been release for both the American and international markets.

Stamma Haughton's Marston Recording Corporation have produce other aritst, with focus on Reggae, Ska, Dance Hall,, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Relaxation Music, Dance Techno, Soca/Calylso and Gospel music.

Cedric Green

Born in Sarasota, Florida, this 21-year-old has already become proficient in squeezing the most from his voice. If you enjoy the sweet soul stylings of artists such as Luther Vandross, LaVerte and Al Green, then you won't want to miss his Marston Recording debut, called "Sir Cedric". From his childhood until now, Cedric has been aware that his voice was a gift, and that he should utilize his talents. "I have a spiritual voice. God lets me use my voice and I give everything to Him," Cedric said. "The only thing I take credit for is the effort I put into it." Cedric is excited for the opportunity with which Marston Recording has provided him. "I just want to be heard. I've never had the opportunity to do something like this, but I've always dreamed of it," he said. "Even if I don't hit the top charts; just as long as I'm heard."

Realizm

Michael Leon Hill and Travis Green, a pair of 25-year-olds from Sarasota, aren't brothers by blood, but they have formed a bond just as strong, and just as lasting. Calling themselves "Realizm", this rap duo insists upon saying it like it is. Their Marston Recording debut, called "Dark Side Chronicle", represents truth for the two men, not what they think others might want to hear. Travis and Mike have gone through school, Job Corps, and now a rigorous studio schedule together. Honesty and communication have carried them through both their personal and musical lives, and they hope people will listen to what they have to say. "It's our story," Mike said. "We talk about things that need to be expressed and told. We talk about the same things that newspapers talk about, real stuff." The duo is excited to see the fruits of their labor. "When I see it (the album) on the shelf, I'll be proud because I know I did something," Mike said. As long as they stick with the truth, Realizm should become a world view.

Nysha

Strong, Militant, Sexy, Songstress, Rapper are all words that can be used to describe many female rappers, but Marston Recording Corporation's newest rap sensation wears these shoes "to the tee," as most would say. Titinysha Hammond a.k.a "Nysha" (b.k.a.) "Lil 5'2"" has truely captured and cultivated a unique and versatile style of sensuous vocals and hip hop grooves. Standing 5'2", this 23-year-old, native of Manatee County has been performing since age 3, with talents that stem from generation to generation. "I have always dreamed and visioned myself as a performer, and thanks to the ALMIGHTY FATHER and Stamma my producer that dream has become reality," says Nysha. Her debut album seizes and exploits her musical talents with words about love, reality, friendship, unity and even a little something - something for the player haters and perpertrators. This powerful, young, energetic lady definitely intends not to let her size play any role in her strategy in becoming successful with her music career. "I feel that I have the ability to make things happen for myself and I'm on my way," says Nysha.

A Tempo

“Eclectic Repertoire!”, “Unique Style!”, “Breathtaking Harmonies!” -- These are just a few of the adjectives being used to describe vocal group, A Tempo.

A Tempo stormed the Gulf Coast music scene several years ago with their stunning vocal prowess, lush harmonies and innovative presentation, blended together to create pure musical excitement! Their extensive performance experience spans the gamut of musical styles, but lovingly lingers on the genres of Jazz, Swing and Big Band Standards.

These four golden-throated singers are each classically trained musicians and have enjoyed successful solo careers. All are equally at home singing Mozart or Ellington, but can best be compared with such legendary vocal ensembles as the Hi-Los, the Modernaires, and the Four Freshmen.

A Tempo consistently dazzles audiences in a variety of venues ranging from intimate cabaret clubs to the concert stage. Their debut album “Painting Pictures” is set to be released by Marston Recording Corporation in September, 1999. “Painting Pictures” remains true to A Tempo’s dedication to the cutting edge and represents a fusion of everything from a cappella Renaissance to Boogie Woogie—with a lot more in between!

A Tempo is Susan Filson, soprano; Christine Ayala, mezzo-soprano; Dean Steffenhagen, tenor; and Tim O’Connnor, baritone. The group has been making beautiful music together since 1992, and will continue to do so well into the next millennium!

Willo

Willo was born in 1965 in a small, remote district in Portland Jamaica. He grew up in a simple and humble home with his mother, father, three brothers and three sisters. He is the youngest. He began his musical career at age ten when he starred in musical folk plays. Later, in high school he sang at concerts that the school frequently had, although he was very timid and shy. In church, at school, and at community concerts he would always find ways to participate. His best performance however was from the top of a tall breadfruit tree in his backyard where he would sing out. He grew up to the sound of Burning Spear, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Suger Minnott, Dennis Brown and many more. At the time music played a very important role in his life. At the age of nineteen he moved to Kingston Jamaica with his oldest Sister; then he moved to the US. In 1993 he put out his first single (I Will Be There for You). The same year he produced and released his second tape with two songs. In 1997 he signed with Marston Recording Corporation to produce his first album. As a young lad growing up in the country, he embraced roots reggae as an inspirational tool and he is proud to be part of its heritage. He feels within himself that his true job and purpose in life is to enlighten people to the realities of life through the music and this he will strive to do until his dying days.

{short description of image} CHA CHA RANKS
When the music business is not supporting Cha-Cha Ranks, he earns his living as a painter. But his desire is to be a deejay. He was christened Delroy Coke, born in St. James on November 3, 1959. He attended Ms. Mary Basic School and Albion All-Age School, both in St. James. Cha-Cha said he got his name from inside his community, but it was so long ago that he cannot remember who gave it to him. Cha-Cha Ranks recorded his first single in the 1980s, Careless Lover, on the Pills Posse label. He was inspired to become a deejay by being the sidekick of Robby Marshall, a relatively unknown deejay on a sound system called Far International. He has not been influenced by the big stars in the business. Cha-Cha notes that his favourite food is fish, while black is his favourite colour. Whenever he finds some time for himself, Cha-Cha Ranks likes to play CDs or cassette tapes of music. He cites as his greatest achieve-ment in the music business so far, the release of his biggest single to date, Sitting In the Park, done in combination with Andrew Thomas. He is now with the Live Wire Crew and on the album Raga Fire and Partner Plan.

{short description of image} SATTA RANKS

Satta Ranks is by far the most entertaining and humorous deejay in St. James today. He finds himself almost daily answering the question why he is not on the big stage with Beenie Man and Bounty Killer. Satta Ranks is quick to point out that the untimely death of the producer called Grizzle dealt his career a serious blow. Grizzle was one of the first to recognize Satta Rank's talent and organize tours for him. The first tour took Satta Ranks to Europe, where he stormed Belgium. Just after the first leg of the tour, Grizzle died in a car accident. Notwithstanding such misfortune, Satta bounced back and played in Nassau. He has also performed in Jamaican shows such as six years on the Reggae Sumfest He was born Neville Downes in Montego Bay on August 27 1960. He started his scholastic career at Miss Wisdom Basic School. From there he went to Albion Basic School before graduating from the Montego Bay Secondary School, now St. James High. One day in Kingston, his peers noticed that he just sat still and was just listening rather than speaking. So one of them asked: "How yu just a satta so?" Of course he has been called Satta ever since. Interestingly, Satta has been a nurse employed at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James for many years. Born to an actress and a carpenter, Satta said his first influence was one of his local peers called VCR. But when he took up the craft, he modeled himself on former deejay kingpin Papa San who had a style he called" fast rapid." His first time in a recording studio was in Belgium in 1994 to record a single called Sweet Europe on the Grizzle label. He followed up with Exam, Soft Man, Nedder One Come, Look Good, Woman, Parliament, Transportation, Poor People Wah Money, and Crack and Cocaine. He is now a prominent member of Stamma Haughton's Live Wire Crew which also includes his deejay peers VCR, Most -I-G, Your Honour, Cha-Cha Ranks, Ras View, Hatian Lion, Wayne Scorcher, Murdak, Itesha and Iresha, and Killer Miller. He is on their debut single Partner Plan, the album called Ragga Fire, and the Partner Plan video. His favourite food is ackee and saltfish, while his favourite colour is black. Reading is one of his forms of amusement. His proudest moment was in 1993 when he performed on the Reggae Sunfest. His most embarassing moment was when a crowd at the Dome House in Montego Bay wiped him off the stage. He recalls that a crowd the following night at the Observer Lawn refused to let him go.

One of the most versatile members of the Live Wire Crew is Your Honour, who was christened Levi Roberts. He was very much involved in the video and single produced by Stamma Haughton, called Partner Plan. He also contributed to the album, Ragga Fire. An early influence was former dancehall king, Papa San, and his brother the late Dirtsman. In his spare time, Your Honour plays some football. He is also profesional sign painter. In 1997 he performed with the Haitian pair, Haitian Lion and Most I.G.
